As a hypnotherapist and intuitive reader, I get the privilege of working with clients all over the world remotely. I do have a local office but even my local clients have discovered that remote sessions done in their own home are actually better. I have a client who can actually see my office from her house who does remote because it’s so much better.
I have found though that some clients and healers for a variety of reasons have been reluctant to embrace this new and better way of conducting a healing session. They seem to think that there is less connection if the session is remote and somehow not as good, but I will tell you having done a lot of these now, the opposite is true. Clients are actually able to go more deeply into the healing session when it is done in their space, with their pets, with their stuff.
Here’s some reasons why it’s better:
Intuition: If the healer is using intuition to tune in and help you heal (this is doubly true for a reading) then it’s much easier to tap into someone when they are comfortably in their own space, relaxing and being themselves.
Pets: Both the client and the healer’s pets provide energy for the session and that can’t happen in a professional office. Dogs and cats, but especially dogs, radiate love, acceptance, and joy. When they are in the room with the client or healer, they help in the process.
Logistics: I have had many clients distracted during an in-person session by concerns about the babysitter, traffic, gezz . . . lots of traffic, and even parking. They sometimes come in worked up by all it took to get to my office, and it takes time for them to calm down and get back to the work at hand. Not so in their own space. Plus, frankly it’s easier to be on time when you can do these sessions from your phone, wherever you happen to be at session time.
Illness and injury: When a client or I have the flu, I don’t want them in my office. Nobody needs that. But I will say, great healing work happens when a client is home sick and very receptive. Professionally I have given great virtual sessions when I had a fever because my filter was off and both of us were really able to dive in.
Schedules: Because these appointments can be done from a home office, most healers can offer more convenient hours than we might be able to offer an in-person client. For example, I am not staying in my office building till 9pm, but I will do an online appointment at that time.
Weather: I use Zoom for my sessions so unless the power and my cell phone go out, we can still have a session no matter what is going on outside. It’s better not to contribute to the chaos on the roads by driving.
More peace: In general, each one of the above factors contributes to the overall healing experience and there is something really nice about doing that healing work at your home, in your PJ’s, with your pets handy, and not having to drive home after. It makes for a more therapeutic experience all around.
If you are a healer, I strongly encourage you to embrace this technology in your practice and helping a client get the deeper healing experience that you can get from doing that work in their home. And as a client I would also encourage you to consider that being in your space, practicing healing in your own home helps make it so much more real. Plus doing that work in your space infuses that whole room with the light of healing that you experienced, rather than more of it going into the healer’s office.
Love yourself enough to do that hard work of healing in the best way possible.
