Most people have a very conscious desire to have a happy life, a beautiful home, love, and plenty of money. I am going to guess that 99% of you reading this have those desires.
But I bet many of you can also relate to the belief that there is something keeping you from achieving those goals. There may even be some self-sabotaging behaviors that you could point to that have kept you from achieving those goals.
What is likely happening is that even though you may have a surface belief and desire to have nice things, there may be a deeper unconscious belief that is secretly running the show and activity keeping you from having what you want.
-I do not deserve … love, money, good things.
-I am not worthy of … whatever it is you want.
-I am not good enough.
-I will never be …
Those are just a few of the most common I see in my hypnotherapy practice, but those small words can have a big impact on your life and influence how successful and happy you let yourself be.
How do I know if this is a problem for me?
Look at your life right now. Were you just inches away from massive success to see it not come to fruition? Did you see yourself sabotaging the good things in life when you do get them? Have you been able to achieve some success but not the level you always wanted? Or thought you should have?
Failure is part of life, it happens to everyone, but self-sabotage is different, it’s a symptom of the bigger problem of limiting core beliefs.
Jill, I am successful, but I think I may have some of these.
Good for you! Very happy for your success but a word of caution. If you have limiting core beliefs, you run the risk of self-destructing at some point in your career. I have seen it many times and I am not trying to scare you but rather warn you to pay attention to this issue and work on healing it.
So how do we fix this?
I wish I could say, “it’s as easy as thinking positive,” but sadly despite what you may have heard at a self-help seminar or read in a book, it’s not that simple.
Just acknowledging the belief is there is a good first step but to really heal this, you have to go into the unconscious mind using hypnosis or meditation to get to the heart of that core belief and change it into something more life enhancing.
