Standing in line waiting at the Delta Airlines check in, it’s not hard to notice that no matter how long the line is, if there is a person in the “special first class check in” everyone else must wait until that person is finished being helped. It’s not a secret; after all, they are paraded in front of the rest of the coach passengers to see and envy. I found myself mad. After all, I had waited so long, and my bag was heavy. Then it hit me; they paid a lot more for that privilege. In fact, probably $1K more than I did for their ticket. Rather than be angry or jealous, I should be happy for them and intend to be so well off that I can be in that special line someday.
Everyone says they want to be wealthy, but then they deeply resent those that are doing well financially. This blocks your ability to create wealth for yourself.
Our unconscious mind finds it hard to want to be like someone we hate or judge so badly. Do you really think your mind will help you do the things you need to do to be rich if it means you will become one of those bad rich people you hate? Nope. In fact, it may actively sabotage your success.
If you want to be prosperous, you must start by setting aside your judgment that rich people are bad or that it’s not fair for them to have so much, and instead be happy for them and decide to join that special line yourself someday. Which, if I’m honest, I probably won’t because it would kill me to spend an extra $1K when I could spend that on a longer trip; but, I digress.
Becoming prosperous usually takes a lot of work, but it starts with shifting your mindset so that you begin to see being rich as a good thing, and that special line as a way for the airline to be able to offer me a $200 round trip ticket back east… The catch? A bit of a longer wait at the check in counter, but that’s only temporary. Soon I will fly first class.
If you need help shifting to a mindset of prosperity, give me a call. I can help, but not till I am back from my trip. 😊 Namaste
